President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon says that we have a political post-electoral blockage, the political parties that passed to Parliament and obtained the vote of confidence of the citizens on 24 February, so far do not want to discuss.

As TRIBUNA informs, in a press briefing, Igor Dodon said that a political vacuum of power in the Republic of Moldova was created.

„Obviously, such a situation cannot exist too long. According to the Constitution, if no laws are passed in Parliament within 3 months, the President may, after consultation with the parliamentary fractions, dissolve Parliament and announce early elections. I think we cannot afford to wait for three months. We need to have a serious discussion with the parties that can create a parliamentary majority, get the mandate for deputies in this respect, and make a clear decision and inform the citizens. We need to know that we have a parliamentary majority who, in the next few weeks, summons – chooses the leadership of Parliament, whether or not it creates coalitions, depends on them, or the parties honestly say that they will not discuss to anyone, that there are no chances to create a parliamentary majority, and in this case to go to early parliamentary elections. Everyone has to take the risks, responsibility in this regard. We have to be honest with citizens, people expect clarity, “the head of state said.

In this regard, Igor Dodon announced that he has decided to cut this Gordian knot of political blockage and invite political parties to dialogue. “Everyone, separately, once they cannot talk to each other. I propose to invite the parties to tell us very clearly their position, their conditions to discuss with other parties. That is why I want to officially invite the following parties tomorrow, at the State Residence – in order of their parliamentary representativeness. The leader of PSRM, Zinaida Greceanii – at 14.00,  leader of PDM, Vlad Plahotniuc – at 15.00 and co-presidents of the bloc NOW, Maia Sandu and Andrei Nastase – at 16.00. These are parties that have sufficient mandates to discuss the formation of a parliamentary majority. Leaders can come along with some colleagues, with whom they think fit. Let’s have these discussions. I’m available to start this dialogue, “Dodon said.
