The President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon claims that if he is again tried to be removed from office, he will take people to the streets. He said during a “Straight line”, answering the question whether withdrawn the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in the Russian Federation Andrey Negutsa.
According to the TRIBUNA, Igor Dodon said that the situation with the Ambassador is strange.
“They are making false accusations. This is a very professional man who was Ambassador in Paris, Strasbourg and Moscow several times, and all without exception say that Mr Negutsa is one of the best diplomats of the country. Therefore, I firmly believe that everything that has been happening recently around the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Russian Federation is directly related to the parliamentary elections. This is an attempt to make another anti-Russian action that does not correspond to national interests, it is an attempt to make a geopolitical move. Mr Negutsa is located in Chisinau, and the Decision of the government about its revocation is still pending because the meeting was not, but even if this decision is made, I will not sign the decree for the recall of the Ambassador. I heard some statements that they will appeal to the COP again, but I repeat once again: I will not tolerate more suspensions,” the head of state said.
According to Dodon, until now, when he was repeatedly suspended, people offered him to take to the streets, but he did not want to destabilize.
“I do not want to destabilize now, but if they try to do it again, I will take the people to the streets. We will go to the COP and Parliament. I hope that these misunderstandings will end along with the election campaign. It’s just a political show,” Dodon said.
