The spring session of the Parliament will begin on 4 February 2019. The president of the Parliament, Andrian Candu signed a provision in this respect, TRIBUNA informs.
According to a press release, as of next week, the deputies will start work in the working bodies of the Parliament.
On Wednesday, 6 February, a meeting of the Standing Bureau of Parliament will be held, which will determine the date of the first plenary session of the spring session.
According to the Rules of the Parliament, the Legislature meets in two ordinary sessions per year. The spring session begins in February and can’t go beyond the end of July. The autumn session starts in September and can’t be more than the end of December.
The parliamentary term of the 20th legislature expired on 30 November 2018. According to the provisions of the Constitution, the mandate of the Parliament is extended until the legal meeting of the new composition. During this period, Parliament may adopt ordinary laws, decisions etc., may organize hearings, consultations and perform parliamentary scrutiny.
