The pensioners with incomes up to MDL 2,000 will benefit from a single aid of MDL 600 before Easter holidays. The announcement was made today by the leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM), Vlad Plahotniuc, at the end of the weekly meeting of the party.

The President of the Democrats has noted that despite the criticism of the opposition politicians, the PDM fulfills and will fulfill its commitments made three years ago to the citizens. “An important commitment of ours is caring for retirees which have been ignored by previous Governments for many years. We, the democratic Government, have recently raised pensions by 10 per cent and in April we will re-index their pensions, even if they are some politicians in the opposition which are trying to remind pensioners that they will not receive indexing anymore. We will also offer MDL 600 worth of aid before Easter,” said Plahotniuc.

He added that the project, which provides for the granting of unique aid to pensioners and state benefit recipients with incomes below MDL 2,000, has already been drafted and will be voted at the first plenary meeting of the Legislature in 2019. “We plan to come every year with such aids,” specified Plahotniuc.

At the end of the year, over 500,000 pensioners and 61,000 state benefit recipients received a unique help of MDL 600 for winter holidays.
