Amid attacks by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the Air Operations Center of the National Army recorded seven incidents involving violations of the Republic of Moldova’s airspace between October 10 and 16, 2026, TRIBUNA reports.

One of the incidents occurred on October 10, when fragments of a drone containing explosives were discovered in the locality of Geamăna, Anenii Noi district.

The other six incidents involved unauthorized overflights of the national airspace by military aircraft. Two of these incidents were recorded on October 15, in the locality of Purcari, Ștefan Vodă district, and in the locality of Ivanovca, in the Transnistrian region.

Four additional incidents were recorded today, October 16, in the following areas: the locality of Tudora, Ștefan Vodă district; the Otaci–Hădărăuți route, Ocnița district; the Căplani–Olănești route, Ștefan Vodă district; and the Purcari area, Ștefan Vodă district, toward Dnestrovsc, in the Transnistrian region.

Since the beginning of 2026, a total of 63 airspace violation incidents have been recorded in the Republic of Moldova, including 15 in October. From 2022 to the present, the total number of recorded incidents has reached 100.

Airspace violations, as well as the presence of drones, missiles, or their fragments on the country’s territory, pose risks to public safety and may lead to unpredictable consequences.

The Ministry of Defense reiterates its appeal to the public not to approach or touch drones, missiles, or their fragments if such objects are discovered. Any such incident must be reported immediately to the authorities by calling 112.
