Prime Minister Vasile Tofan, following the positive news announced yesterday at the EU–Republic of Moldova Association Council, expressed his gratitude to the people who made the progress achieved by the country in implementing reforms possible, TRIBUNA reports.
According to the prime minister, there are civil servants who cancelled their holidays this summer, gave up time with their families, and spent many evenings, nights, and weekends working over the past few months.
“Behind every reform are people who prepare, verify, negotiate, and remove obstacles. We rarely know their names. But much of the progress we are talking about these days is thanks to them.
We are in a decisive period. Just a few years ago, for many people, the idea that Moldova could become an EU member seemed almost impossible.
Today, we are discussing concrete dates and targets for bringing Moldova into the great European family and fulfilling this historic mission of our generation.
Opportunities like these come rarely. It is our responsibility not to miss them, and we will make every effort to ensure that.
Once again, thank you all for your involvement! We are moving forward with determination!” the prime minister said.
