Police explosive ordnance experts found several fragments of a drone yesterday with a turbojet propulsion system and characteristics similar to those of a “Geran”-type drone in a sunflower field outside the village of Mihăilenii Vechi, Rîșcani district, TRIBUNA reports.

Following the investigation, the site of the drone’s impact with the ground was identified, where an explosion occurred and a sizeable crater was formed.

Elements of a fragmentation warhead, in the form of metal balls, were also found in the crater.

Specialists are continuing their investigation to determine the type and weight of the explosive charge.
