The Foreign Policy Committee has endorsed the signing of an agreement with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). Under the agreement, UNITAR will finance the implementation of the project “Strengthening the Operational Capacity of the National Army of the Republic of Moldova,” reports TRIBUNA.

The funds will be used to purchase equipment and strengthen the institutional capacities of the Ministry of Defense.

As part of the project, the National Army will be equipped with several transport vehicles, modular accommodation units, field facilities, and other necessary equipment. In addition, military personnel will receive training, certification, and performance assessments.

The document will be submitted to Parliament for ratification in plenary, after which the project is expected to be implemented by December 30, 2026.
