Yesterday evening, Environment Minister Gheorghe Hajder visited the Novodnistrovsk Reservoir in Ukraine and announced that “unfortunately, the water level has dropped significantly.” According to the minister, while the water level stood at 117 meters during the same period last year, it has now fallen to 112.9 meters—a decrease of more than 4 meters, according to TRIBUNA.

The minister explained that the reason is straightforward: over the past few days, the reservoir has received an average inflow of only 30 cubic meters of water per second (30 m³/s), while approximately 85 cubic meters per second (85 m³/s) have been released. As a result, authorities are drawing on the strategic water reserve to ensure the population’s water supply.

“That is why it is important to use water responsibly. The situation is being monitored continuously, and together we can help protect this vital resource. Get your information only from reliable sources and use water wisely. Every liter saved makes a difference,” the minister emphasized.
