The first lesson of the 2026–2027 academic year will be held under the theme “The Independence That Unites Us” in all public and private educational institutions across the Republic of Moldova as part of the Decade of National Values, TRIBUNA reports.
To support teachers in organizing the lesson, the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) will hold a series of online methodological workshops from August 17 to 28, 2026. During these sessions, educators will be introduced to the teaching materials developed for the initiative and will discuss practical approaches to conducting the thematic lesson. Participants will also have the opportunity to review and make use of the recommended educational resources.
“The Ministry encourages all teachers to participate in the workshops and use the resources provided so that the first lesson of the new school year contributes to developing a deeper understanding of the independence of the Republic of Moldova as a value that unites generations around freedom, democracy, human rights, and responsibility for the common good,” said Valentina Olaru, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Research.
The workshop schedule, registration details, and teaching resources will be published on the official website and communication channels of the Ministry of Education and Research. Teachers will also receive information about the workshops through official letters sent to district and municipal education authorities.
