“After five years leading the country, President Maia Sandu came today with almost electoral statements addressed to citizens. She said what needs to be done and fixed, as if she had not been governing the country with all the tools and institutions at her disposal. It’s easy to label serious systemic errors as ‘blunders’. But where are the consequences? Why is no high‑ranking official offering an honorable resignation?” said Igor Dodon, leader of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM), TRIBUNA reports.
The politician said that we are not in elections, but in a period of almost dictatorial control, with concrete responsibilities at the highest level of the state, and those responsible are guilty. And a few resignations “for show” no longer impress anyone.
“People no longer believe in the sincerity of PAS. Nor in the false apologies of this government. If the press had not written about it, the abuses and protectionism would have continued — with the knowledge of those at the top.
PAS is in decline. People want another force, more competent and more responsible. And electoral‑style statements irritate citizens even more. It has become clear who you are and what you were capable of.
The time has come for the government to resign and for both parliamentary and presidential early elections, to restart the country’s politics. This is what the majority of citizens want,” the PSRM leader stressed.
