Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov held discussions in Berlin with representatives of civil society, with Bundestag member Knut Abraham, and with David Preisendanz, the rapporteur for the Republic of Moldova of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) parliamentary group. She also met with Christoph Israng, Director General for Europe, and Niklas Wagner, responsible for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia within the German Federal Foreign Office, TRIBUNA reports.
“We discussed the current state of the European agenda, progress in the negotiation process, and the support Germany provides to the Republic of Moldova as we advance on our path toward the EU,” Cristina Gherasimov stated.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the authorities in Berlin for their openness and strong cooperation: “The reforms and projects we are implementing together help strengthen the capacities of public institutions and improve the lives of our citizens.”
