The Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, stated that yesterday, under the Cypriot Presidency of the EU Council, new important steps were taken toward the formal advancement of the Republic of Moldova’s EU accession process, TRIBUNA reports.
“This is an important signal that enlargement remains a strategic priority for the European Union and that Moldova continues to benefit from support for its European path.
For us, this moment means continuing the work started at home: reforms, alignment with European standards, and preparation for the official opening of all negotiation clusters,” the official said.
According to her, discussions will continue in the coming days at the Council level to finalize the process that will allow the formal opening of the first negotiation cluster.
“Moldova is ready to advance based on its own merits, and every step forward brings us closer to our strategic objective — accession to the European Union,” Cristina Gherasimov underlined.
