The Democracy at Home Party is demanding the immediate resignation of Domnica Manole from her position as President of the Constitutional Court, TRIBUNA reports.

The statement was made by Vasile Costiuc, the party’s leader, after the Republic of Moldova was condemned at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) following a ruling issued by Judge Domnica Manole, which now obliges the state to pay 11 million lei in compensation.

“Domnica Manole is responsible for the condemnation of the Republic of Moldova at the ECHR. Moldovans will have to pay 11,000,000 lei from the pocket of every citizen.
For this reason, we demand the immediate resignation of the head of the Constitutional Court,” the MP said.

The politician also announced that Democracy at Home will propose the introduction of mechanisms through which judges involved in cases lost at the ECHR could be held financially accountable.
