Vice Premier for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri stated that the 1+1 format remains the only active communication mechanism in the ongoing Transnistrian settlement process, according to TRIBUNA. He underlined that Moldova’s position is “very clear: identifying a peaceful solution for the country’s reintegration, based on respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders.”

Chiveri reiterated that the presence of Russian military forces on the territory of the Republic of Moldova is illegal, noting that the Moldovan authorities have consistently called for their withdrawal.

He explained that the 1+1 format operates alongside the Joint Control Commission and the sectoral working groups, which continue to address practical issues between Chișinău and Tiraspol.

“The Transnistrian settlement is a process that we associate exclusively with a peaceful solution”, the Vice Premier added.
