President Maia Sandu will undertake visits to the Republic of Finland and the Republic of Latvia between 31 March and 1 April, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation, with a particular focus on regional security and Moldova’s EU accession process, TRIBUNA reports.
On 31 March, the head of state will be in Helsinki for a working visit, where she will meet with the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb. The two leaders will later hold a joint press conference. The agenda also includes discussions with other Finnish officials and representatives of civil society.
The President’s trip will continue on 1 April in Riga, where she will pay an official visit at the invitation of the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs. Maia Sandu will meet with her Latvian counterpart, followed by a joint press conference, as well as meetings with Prime Minister Evika Siliņa and the leadership of the Latvian Parliament. Additionally, President Sandu will deliver an address in the plenary session of the Latvian legislature.
