Discussions on media access to the activities of the Joint Control Commission continued during a new working meeting

Discussions on media access to the activities of the Joint Control Commission continued during a new working meeting held on 12 March 2026 in the city of Bender.

The position of the delegation of the Republic of Moldova remained unchanged, consistently promoting the professional right of media representatives to directly observe the functioning of the peacekeeping mechanisms in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova.

At the current stage, this prerogative of journalists is being blocked by representatives of Tiraspol, who apply a selective approach and impose excessive requirements on media institutions from the right bank of the Nistru.

Regarding freedom of movement in the Security Zone, the Moldovan delegation referred to the announcement made by the Hârbovăț village administration on the start of repair works on a road segment. The delegation requested unhindered movement for the transport vehicles of local poultry enterprises along the alternative route that passes through posts operated by the Transnistrian structures. Our delegation called on all members of the Commission to ensure a positive resolution of this issue, as provided for in the Agreement of 21 July 1992.
