The concept of the e-Archive Information System was approved at today’s Government meeting. This marks the first stage in creating and launching the electronic archive.
The e-Archive Information System will enable the transition from paper documents to digital formats and will ensure:
- coordinated management of archival documents
- optimization of archiving processes
- simplified electronic access to documents
- protection of originals through the use of digital versions
Although public institutions have been creating electronic documents for many years, there is still no centralized system that allows their archiving and transfer to the National Archives Agency. In the absence of such a mechanism, there is a risk of losing documents of archival value, and the process remains largely dependent on paper support.
The project is developed in the context of implementing the Public Administration Reform Strategy 2023–2030 and the Digital Transformation Strategy of the Republic of Moldova for 2023–2030. It aims to introduce electronic archiving and create the conditions necessary for the permanent preservation of electronic documents.
The digitalization of justice and of processes within institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Justice remains a priority. At the end of last year, the Ministry of Justice, together with ADJAJ, launched the Information System “Register of Succession Files and Wills,” which simplifies the work of notaries and provides citizens with faster and higher‑quality services.
