In 2025, citizens of the Republic of Moldova residing in the Transnistrian region received social benefits totaling 138.53 million lei

In 2025, citizens of the Republic of Moldova residing in the Transnistrian region received social benefits totaling 138.53 million lei, paid from the national state social insurance budget. The total amount of payments increased by approximately 40 million lei (+40.7%) compared to 2024, when the value reached 98.45 million lei, TRIBUNA reports, citing the Bureau for Reintegration Policies.

The number of beneficiaries also registered a significant increase of about 213.6%. Thus, in 2025, 10,134 people received social payments, compared to 3,231 people in 2024.

The main categories of benefits granted in 2025 include:

  • 4,624 monthly child‑care allowances
    (4,149 — for children up to 2 years old; 475 — for children up to 3 years old)
  • 1,891 one‑time childbirth allowances
  • 1,169 old‑age pensions
  • 1,155 temporary incapacity allowances
  • 514 monthly state allowances for war veterans (according to Law No. 317/2024)
  • 185 maternity allowances, etc.

The most significant increases were recorded in the area of family and child protection. The number of one‑time childbirth allowances rose from 284 (in 2024) to 1,891 (in 2025), while child‑care allowances for children up to 2 years old increased from 615 to 4,149 beneficiaries.

Ensuring and fully honoring social commitments toward all citizens of the Republic of Moldova, regardless of residence or domicile, remains a permanent and strategic priority of national authorities. The state guarantees every citizen the inalienable right to social protection, ensuring unrestricted and equitable access to essential public services.
