Minister of Finance, Andrian Gavriliță, held a meeting with Dominika Stojanoska, UN Women Representative in the Republic of Moldova, to assess the progress of cooperation and set new directions of action in promoting gender-sensitive budgeting, TRIBUNA reports.
The parties highlighted the achievements so far and reaffirmed their joint commitment to integrating gender-sensitive principles into the budgetary process. Discussions focused on strengthening women’s participation in the labor market through appropriate financial instruments, developing gender-responsive programs, encouraging female entrepreneurship, and integrating the gender dimension into social inclusion policies. They also addressed updating the methodological guide, improving monitoring indicators, intensifying the exchange of experience, and digitalizing budgetary processes.
Minister Andrian Gavriliță expressed appreciation for UN Women’s support in consolidating a more equitable and inclusive public finance system, emphasizing the institution’s openness to developing new tools and effective policies.
For her part, Dominika Stojanoska reiterated UN Women’s readiness to continue supporting national authorities in implementing gender-sensitive budgeting, in line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed in September 2023.
The partnership between the Ministry of Finance and UN Women remains essential for promoting gender equality and aligning the Republic of Moldova with international standards of inclusive governance.
