Police announced that today, in the locality of Pepeni, Sîngerei district, a drone was observed which was inactive and not in flight, TRIBUNA reports.

Police officers went to the scene to conduct checks and assess the situation. The man who had found the drone on Saturday on a nearby hill was identified; today he decided to transport the object home without notifying the authorities.

Specialists from the Police’s Technical-Explosive Division will examine the drone under special conditions to determine its characteristics and any potential risks.

Police reminded citizens:

• Do not touch or attempt to transport fallen drones or similar objects;
• Keep a safe distance from the discovered drone until the authorities arrive;
• If you identify similar objects, immediately notify the Police by calling 112;
• Avoid handling unknown objects to prevent any potential risk.
