Moldovan-Swiss cooperation and opportunities for developing investment relations between the two states were discussed during the meeting of Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu with Switzerland’s Ambassador Felix Baumann, TRIBUNA reports.

The Head of Government noted that the two countries have drawn even closer in recent years, and the activity of the Cooperation Office opened in Chișinău amplifies Switzerland’s support aimed at improving the well-being of Moldova’s population. The government’s priority is to relaunch the economy and attract investors, including Swiss ones, into the national economy. To establish direct contacts between entrepreneurs, the Moldova–Switzerland Business Forum will be organized in Zurich in March 2026.

Switzerland is providing Moldova with free financial assistance through the Swiss Cooperation Program 2025–2028, designed to improve good governance and social cohesion, foster economic development and resilience, strengthen healthcare, and enhance local public services.

Additionally, based on a Memorandum signed earlier this year with the Ministry of Health, Switzerland has significantly contributed to modernizing conditions in maternity wards and emergency services.

Officials also referred to the Agreement on combating corruption and recovering criminal assets, the Free Trade Agreement, and the social agreement. The latter will allow more than 10,000 Moldovans residing in Switzerland to benefit from pensions and other social guarantees for the years worked in both countries.

The discussions also addressed cooperation in reforming public services, as well as in the fields of agriculture and tourism.
