Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu met with Falk Lange, Head of the Council of Europe (CoE) Office in Chișinău. The official praised Moldova’s progress on its European path and assured that the country will continue to benefit from CoE assistance in implementing reforms, TRIBUNA reports.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the constant support offered by the Council of Europe in the process of European integration, in promoting democracy, and in ensuring the rule of law.
During the discussions, the officials highlighted the strategic importance of the Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova 2025–2028, which provides assistance in priority areas such as justice reform, combating corruption and disinformation, protecting human rights, and ensuring good governance.
In the context of the regional situation, the dignitaries also emphasized the need to strengthen efforts to increase resilience against hybrid attacks and disinformation, and analyzed the possibility of developing a joint action plan.
Starting from November 14, the Republic of Moldova assumed the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. Over the course of six months, a series of activities will be carried out aimed at strengthening democracy, defending human rights, continuing to counter disinformation, and maintaining support for Ukraine.
