The leadership of the European Social Democratic Party participated in the Congress of the Party of European Socialists

Between October 16–18, 2025, the leadership of the European Social Democratic Party (PSDE) participated in the Congress of the Party of European Socialists (PES), held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The event brought together social democratic leaders from across Europe under the central theme: “The future won’t wait. Neither will the people of Europe,” TRIBUNA reports.

Representing PSDE at the forum was First Vice President Ion Sula, who took part in plenary sessions and bilateral discussions with European partners.

The Congress addressed key issues shaping Europe’s future: social equity, employment, green and digital transition, democracy, solidarity, and human rights. Participants adopted 14 resolutions outlining the political direction of the European social democratic family for the coming years.

During the meeting, Stefan Löfven, former Prime Minister of Sweden, was re-elected as President of PES. Several progressive parties also joined PES, including Place Publique (France), Vetëvendosje (Kosovo), and the Party of Freedom and Justice (Serbia).

PSDE’s participation in the Congress reaffirms the commitment of Moldova’s social democrats to European values, solidarity, social justice, and sustainable development. The party reiterates its goal to strengthen ties with the European social democratic family and bring the Republic of Moldova closer to the European Union through modern and responsible policies.
