Minister Popșoi thanked Sweden for its consistent support of Moldova’s European path

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova, Petra Maria Lärke, who recently began her diplomatic mission in Chișinău, TRIBUNA reports.

The Minister expressed gratitude to Sweden for its steadfast support of Moldova’s European integration and its contribution to development and modernization projects. He highlighted the joint initiative of Nordic and Baltic countries, including Sweden, aimed at strengthening the institutional resilience of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with a focus on cybersecurity and crisis management. The project is implemented through UNDP and is set to conclude in 2028. He also praised the programs of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.

Ambassador Lärke congratulated the government team on the results of the legislative elections and reaffirmed Sweden’s support for the country’s European path.

Discussions also covered the strengthening of high-level political dialogue, cooperation in security, defense, and energy, as well as in education, environmental protection, and the creative industries.
