S.A. Energocom announced that, as of today, 10 September 2025, it has procured 90.9% of the forecasted firm consumption for the 2025–2026 gas year (running from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026), as well as the full volume for September 2025. This amounts to 7.45 million MWh, equivalent to approximately 700 million cubic meters of natural gas. The entire forecasted consumption for the heating season (October 2025 – March 2026) has been secured, ensuring uninterrupted deliveries during the coldest months of the year.
In total, 54 rounds of procurement auctions were held since May, with participation from 13 companies based in Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Germany, and the Netherlands. Of these, 26 rounds were successfully concluded. To ensure transparency and fairness, representatives from the Ministry of Energy, the Public Property Agency, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS), and civil society were invited and took part in all auctions.
Simultaneously, Energocom launched the procurement process for additional volumes required to meet the mandatory storage obligation (15% of the total forecasted annual volume, as per ANRE’s decision), amounting to approximately 1.45 million MWh or 140 million cubic meters. These volumes will be stored in neighboring countries with available storage infrastructure.
The gas was procured with firm delivery for the respective consumption month and purchased at both fixed and indexed prices, aligned with the quotations of major energy exchanges in Central and Southeastern Europe, such as the TTF (Title Transfer Facility) in the Netherlands and BRM (Romanian Commodities Exchange). All acquisitions were made based on Energocom’s strategy, approved by the company’s Board of Directors. Due to contractual confidentiality clauses and to preserve the competitiveness of offers, the final price will be disclosed after the delivery period ends.
