Cristina Gherasimov at the informal GAC meeting: The Republic of Moldova continues to walk its European path with determination

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov today attended the informal meeting of the General Affairs Council (GAC) in Copenhagen, held under the aegis of the Danish EU Council Presidency.

At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister discussed with counterparts from the candidate countries and the ministers for European affairs of the 27 Member States the Copenhagen criteria and the opportunities offered by accelerated integration of the candidate countries.

‘We talked about the reforms the Republic of Moldova is going through and the preparations for this fall’s democratic exercise, which will be crucial for our country’s European course. From the GAC rostrum, we sent a clear message: the Republic of Moldova continues to walk with determination on its European path, a path that will bring us more prosperity, security for every citizen and development opportunities for all of us here at home’, said Cristina Gherasimov.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Republic of Moldova enjoys the full support of the European institutions and EU Member States on its European path.
