The Republic of Moldova is withdrawing from the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 and requests the reallocation of financial sources for other television projects, informs TRIBUNA.
Corneliu Durnescu, director of the Moldova 1 station, said that the decision was not easy and was made “following a detailed analysis of the current situation, as well as the economic, administrative and artistic challenges”.
Even so, Moldova 1 will broadcast live the two semi-finals and the grand final in Basel.
Also, the organizers expressed their hope that the Republic of Moldova will return in strength and with quality products at the next editions.
We specify that the participation fee of the Republic of Moldova communicated by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is 21,486 euros.
This year, our country would have participated in Eurovision for the 20th time.
