Cristina Gherasimov: We have ambitious objectives to advance in the negotiation process and we count on Poland's support to open negotiations on the first group of chapters

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, had a phone conversation with Adam Szłapka, Minister for the European Union Affairs of Poland. The discussion was held in the context that on 1 January 2025, Poland took over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the next six months. 

‘I congratulated our partners in Warsaw on this mandate – the second in Poland’s history – and we discussed the Polish EU Council Presidency Program. Also, we have addressed the priorities on the European agenda of the Republic of Moldova for the first half of this year. We have ambitious objectives to advance in the negotiation process and we count on Poland’s support to open negotiations on the first group of chapters’, said Cristina Gherasimov.

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration expressed her gratitude to the Polish authorities for supporting the European path of the Republic of Moldova and for the solidarity shown by Poland in overcoming the energy crisis that our country is currently experiencing.
