The Central Electoral Commission (CEC), today, started printing the ballots for the republican constitutional referendum and the presidential elections of October 20, 2024, which are to be distributed to the polling stations in the country, informs TRIBUNA.
For each type of election, the CEC will print 2,819,996 ballots, of which 2,137,641 ballots are in Romanian, 676,979 in Russian, 115 in Ukrainian, 3,400 in Gagauz, 870 in Romani and 991 in Bulgarian. It is the first time that ballots will be printed not only in Romanian, but also in five languages of ethnic minorities (Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Gagauz, Russian and Romani).
The size of a ballot for the presidential election is 14 cm wide and 31.7 cm long, and for the constitutional republican referendum – 16 cm long and 33 cm wide.
Ballots will be printed on opaque (matte) paper and will be distinguished by color: smoky gray for presidential and purple for referendum.
The price of a ballot is 0.72 lei for the presidential elections and 0.76 lei for the republican constitutional referendum. The value of the total circulation is over 4.17 million lei.
The printed ballots will be distributed to the electoral offices of the polling stations through the constituency electoral councils.
