Ukraine expresses its concern about the political developments in Moldova and urges the ruling political forces to act within the legal framework and to solve the disputes through political dialogue so as to avoid a struggle for power, IPN reports.

“It is important for the country and the security situation in the region to prevent external interference regarding the implementation of the Russian scenario for the country’s federalization,” says a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The press release notes that as a mediator and guarantor state, Ukraine is interested in having a stable, democratic and European Moldova as a neighbor and is ready to offer assistance in resolving the existing problems, if necessary.

“The Republic of Moldova remains an important partner for Ukraine and a neighbor with which we share common interests and a common European future.”
