The mission of OSCE: The parliamentary elections were competitive and the fundamental rights were generally respected

George Tsereteli, the deputy in the Parliament of Georgia, chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, coordinator of the monitoring mission, said that a large team of parliamentarians and experts were delegated to Moldova to monitor the electoral process.

“Elections were competitive and fundamental rights were generally respected. There were the first elections for the new electoral system – the mixed one. The legal provisions have provided the basis for democratic elections, even if some of the previous recommendations and questions still remain unanswered. Election Day took place without major incidents, “the official said.

Tsereteli launched an appeal to the newly elected representatives of the people – to make efforts to meet the expectations of the citizens.
