Today, the Romanians on both banks of the Prut celebrate 160 years since the „Mica Unire”, realized in 1859 by Alexandru Ioan Cuza. So, early in the morning, dozens of unionists, members of the UNIREA-ODIP Association went to the waiting stations in the capital and congratulated the people on this occasion, TRIBUNA informs. According to a press release, they shared flyers with a tricolour ribbon and informed citizens of the importance of this historical event for the Romanian people.

„Today, at 6:45 am, we were present in the majority of the waiting stations in Chisinau and sent the message that the Small Union of 1859 should serve as an example for the reunification of the two banks of the Prut. Young people want their change”, said Vlad Bileţchi, the president of UNIREA-ODIP Association.

According to the source, the „Mica Unire” (Small Union) was the first important step on the way of the achievement of the Romanian unitary national state.
