President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, met with the Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, George Tsereteli.
During the meeting, the politicians discussed a number of issues relating to domestic and foreign policy of our country. The parties paid special attention to the current situation around the ongoing election campaign to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
“I announced my decision not to participate in the election campaign as a candidate, concentrate on solving strategic tasks of the state and ensure interaction of the state institutions after the elections,” the Head of State stressed.
Igor Dodon drew attention of George Tsereteli to the fact that the Government’s decision to open polling stations abroad without considering the number of citizens in the respective countries was discriminatory, but welcomed decision to allocate two mandates for the Transnistrian region.
“This can be considered as the first step towards a possible wider representation of the Left Bank in the government and administration in the future,” the President of Moldova said.
At the end of the conversation, Igor Dodon thanked the Parliamentary Assembly for the close cooperation with our country, and noted the assistance provided by the OSCE Mission to Moldova.
