President Dodon on working visit to Turkey

President Igor Dodon on July 9 is paying a working visit to Turkey where he is to take part in the ceremony to inaugurate Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as President of Turkey for a new term in office, IPN reports.

“With the Republic of Turkey, we have very good relations of friendship. For over two decades, the Government of Turkey, through the TIKA Agency, has offered the Republic of Moldova essential assistance in a number of areas. Hundreds of social projects are implemented with this aid in a number of regions of the country, mainly in ATU Gagauzia,” President Dodon said in a message posted on Facebook.

He also said that in accordance with the agreements reached with the President of Turkey, the Presidential Building of the Republic of Moldova is reconstructed with the support of the TIKA Agency. In the second half of August, a solemn ceremony will be held to officially open the building. The event is to be attended by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Earlier, Igor Dodon announced that he also plans to visit the Russian Federation where he is to attend matches of the FIFA World Cup. On July 13 or 14, he will have a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
