Moldova marks Parliament Day

“Each MP, when entering the meeting room, must remember those who bear the consequences of his vote. These people are the true and only master of Moldova, and we have to do what we promised, to change things, bring welfare and people at home,” Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu said on Parliament Day, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

“Sometimes, within debates and often divided into groups, the politicians forget they have been delegated by people to fight not against but for each citizen of Moldova to live with dignity and have the right to choose how to live. We are only one team and we have the same aspirations. Together beyond age, status and principles, we are all for Moldova,” he said.

This image, which includes elderly people, children, young people, unhappy people and hopeful people, is the expression of the whole country. Looking into the eyes of these people every day, I think we will be able to get closer to their expectations, the speaker said. He reminded that the responsibility of the political establishment and of each MP is one of the goals of his mandate. “The integrity package, mixed electoral system, equality law and other laws adopted by the current parliament represent a solid foundation for politicians who have come to power not to fill their pockets, but to give people what they promised.”
