Moldovan president unveils one-year activity report

President Igor Dodon today unveiled the report for one year of presidential mandate. In the report, he noted that “the citizens’ trust in the presidential institution has grown significantly.”

The document presented by the president was classified on four chapters regarding the domestic policy, external activity, Moldova’s reintegration and social projects implemented by the Presidency. Dodon specified that, in 2017, 57 draft laws/programmes had been worked out or were under elaboration at the presidential institution and 8,527 documents were recorded by the presidential chancellery.

Igor Dodon criticized the process of cooperation with the parliamentary majority and informed that he would boycott a string of laws, including the draft on the Constitution’s amendment with references to Moldova’s European integration vector.

“Most initiatives of the president in the domestic policy have been blocked or boycotted by the government and parliament; some of them were even taken over. The 2018 year will be a quite tense one, as it is an electoral year, with a huge stake for the country. It will be the year when our identity, the country’s statehood and  neutrality will be put to a serious test,” Dodon said.

The head of state added that his prospects were based on a realistic analysis of the situation and promised that the results he would achieve during 2018 would be more substantial.
