Moldovan Democrats deny information on possible replacement of premier

The Democratic Party of Moldova today issued a press release which denied information spread in the public on the possible replacement of the prime minister.

According to the party’s press service, PD leader Vlad Plahotniuc noted that the current government, headed by Prime Minister Pavel Filip will take his mandate to the end.

“There is no intention of changing his office and no PD leader’s intention to hold this position”, the communiqué reads.

The PD leader together with the entire party leadership expressed satisfaction with the work of the premier offering him full support in successful implementation of the government programme.

“We describe false public information on the matter as lies brought by several persons who are hiding behind political or journalistic activity to manipulate public opinion. This false information has been spread four times this year and has been denied by the PD every time”, the communiqué also reads.

Yesterday, several media outlets and politicians have reported that the Constitutional Court’s decision on Moldovan President’s powers would be a scenario, which a new government led by Plahotniuc could be appointed.
