Moldovan Socialist MPs leave parliamentary meeting today

The faction of the Party of Socialists left the plenary hall today as a protest. Socialist MPs were outraged that the representative of President Igor Dodon could not present arguments of the presidency from the parliament central tribune.

Before leaving, the Socialists asked the parliamentary majority to check whether they had a quorum to discuss the projects rejected by President Dodon.

Previously, members of PLDM faction and Communist MPs have announced they are boycotting today’s parliamentary meeting.

Also, Liberal MPs initiated a project to suspend Dodon from office and proposed to organize a referendum on his dismissal. Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said that PL lawmakers had already signed a draft decision and urged lawmakers from other factions to follow them.

The MPs met today at a special plenary meeting at the PD’s proposal to discuss and revolt several laws previously rejected by Dodon.
