First parliamentary meeting to be held in late September

The first plenary session of the parliament will take place in late September. Parliament Speaker Adrian Candu made the statement at the end of a meeting with heads of the standing committees.

Candu said that the agenda of next plenary meetings and priorities for the autumn session had been already set. “Today we reviewed everything concerning the implementation of Association Agreement, normative acts that were or should be approved in 2017. At the same time, we decided that in the current session we should focus on parliamentary control and assessment of impact of some laws on certain areas. I asked the committees heads to propose an action plan and parliamentary hearings on various sectors related to some important laws”, he said.

The speaker pointed out that another topic discussed today was related to the 12 laws submitted for review by the head of state. “I asked the committees to re-examine and propose them to the plenary. So, at the first meeting, let’s go directly to discuss them”, he said.

The speaker announced that a special meeting will take place on 18 September, during which a banking supervision mechanism will be set up and the way of cooperation with Kroll company will be approached.
