Moldovan parliament to hold last plenary meeting of spring session this week

The parliament’s Standing Bureau today approved the agenda of the plenary meetings for 20-21 July. The last plenary meetings of the present session will take place this week, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.  

The MPs will consider the draft on the amendment of the electoral system, government’s structure, a string of amendments to the Labour Code, a draft on meal vouchers and will organize hearings on the organization and holding of the school-leaving examinations in 2017.

Also today, the Standing Bureau approved an action plan for the gender equality for 2017-2021. The document was worked out following a gender audit carried out with the support of the UN Development Programme Moldova, with the financial support of Sweden. In continuation, the normative acts concerning the work of the parliament’s institution will be adjusted to the best practices on the gender dimension.

Also, the members of the Bureau accepted the parliament communication strategy for 2017-2020 and the parliament identify guide, part I. Both documents were elaborated with the support of UNDP Moldova, with Sweden’s financial support, by enhancing the institution’s transparency, attracting audiences in the decision-making process, as well as promotion of a unitary and coherent image of the institution.

The parliament’s spring session will end on 31 July 2017. According to an instruction by the parliament speaker, the autumn session of the parliament will start on 4 September, this year.
