President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon signed today, on May 17, a decree on appointing Cristina Buga advisor to the Head of State for relations with the diaspora. As noted by Dodon, out of hundreds of applications this nomination was approved, as it met the key criteria.
Christina Buga lived in France for more than 10 years, was educated at the University of Pierre Mendes France in Grenoble (France), received a master’s degree in international economics and a doctorate in economics from the University of Grenoble, France. For several years she worked as a professor of economics at the University of Grenoble and a researcher in international business at the University of Pretoria.
“Living abroad for a long time and traveling to many countries, she is familiar with the problems faced by the Moldovan diaspora. I wish you success in consolidating the relations of the Diaspora with the Motherland and in strengthening the ties between the Diaspora and the President,” the Head of State wrote on his page in one of the social networks.
Igor Dodon also said that one of the first tasks of Cristina Buga would be organization of a meeting with the Moldovan diaspora in Turkey, where the President of Moldova would soon visit.
The meeting with compatritos will be held in Istanbul, on May 21, at 19.00, in the hotel “Summa Plaza” (Huzur Mah. Fazıl Kaftanoğlu Cd. No: 3, Sarıyer).
