New president of Moldovan top court elected

Tudor Pantiru was elected president of the Constitutional Court (CC) today.  

Magistrates elected the new CC president by secret vote for a three-year mandate.

Tudor Pantiru has been acting as CC judge since 2013. He had earlier held more positions, among which the one of lawmaker of Moldova’s parliament, ambassador resident representative of Moldova at the United Nations, president of the UN Trade Tribunal, international judge at the European Court for Human Rights and the Constitutional Court of Bosnia & Herzegovina.
