Moldovan Democrats insist on uninominal voting system

The Democratic Party insists on the implementation of the uninominal voting system and does not accept the draft on mixed vote. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu made the statement today.

Candu said that Socialists’ proposal was more “a political movement that is going to distort the Democrats’ intention”. He noted his party believed that only uninominal vote would change the political establishment.

The speaker announced that a draft law on providing meal vouchers for employees would be promoted in the parliament soon. “We propose that employees be given 45 lei daily as a supplement to salary, which will increase the income of citizens and will be a tool to fight tax evasion. We will specify in the law that it is forbidden for economic agents to lower wages in this case”, he said.

Prime Minister Pavel Filip announced that the PD weekly meeting was also focused on appointment of new ministers to vacant posts.
