Head of State: Moldova will take part in the forthcoming CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly

President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon held a meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergei Lebedev. The Head of State confirmed interest in the transition of the chairmanship in the CIS in the coming years to Moldova.

“As it became known, the leadership of the parliament stated that the parliamentary majority could refuse to participate in the Inter-parliamentary Assembly of the CIS member states, which would be held in St. Petersburg on March 26-28. I declare that Moldova will participate in the forthcoming CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly in St. Petersburg with a full-fledged delegation, regardless of the statements of the leadership of the parliament and the government,” Igor Dodon stressed.

“We must build bridges, and not build new iron curtains,” the Moldovan President said.
