The Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” suggests five emergency actions aimed at supporting national producers. “When hundreds of people driven away by the current anti-people regime daily leave the country in search of a job, decent incomes and welfare, the keeping and creation of new well-paid jobs are among the national socioeconomic priorities of the “Platform Dignity and Truth”, says a statement presented by the party in a news conference at IPN.  

The party’s chairman Andrei Nastase said the solving of the problems faced by the national producers necessitates real and efficient support in the unequal competition with importers and monopolists and unfair competition stimulated by the captured state institutions. “We have today a double volume of imports that are mainly monopolized by favorites of the government, while the exports are mainly restricted as a result of irresponsible policies from which both the representatives of the power and of the so-called geopolitical opposition profit,” he stated.

The PPPDA proposes amending the law on domestic trade so as to oblige the supermarkets to display on shelves at least 51% of the agrifood products from each category defined in the nomenclature of goods made in Moldova.

The party also suggests introducing the tariff methods admitted within the World Trade Organization so as to limit the import of goods that are made in Moldova too, and amending the legislation on public procurement so that only national agrifood products present on the market are purchased by this method.

Under the European Union Directive 1169/2008, the packing for all the goods sold in Moldova should mandatorily contain information in the Romanian language.

The PPPDA insists on strengthening the mechanisms for counteracting smuggling schemes that significantly stimulate unfair competition and the loss of huge budget revenues. The head of the PPPDA local organization in Balti Arina Spataru said the producers from the textile industry encounter difficulties in entering the market that is full of smuggled items that are cheaper than those proposed by producers, which  are obliged to pay taxes.
