EU-Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee's meeting held in Strasbourg

The EU-Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee will convene in Strasbourg on 14-15 December. The third meeting is hosted by the European Parliament, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

The event will be opened by co-heads of the parliamentary committee, MP Mihai Ghimpu and MEP Andi Cristea, head of Division for Eastern Partnership Dirk Schuebel and head of Moldovan mission to the EU Eugen Caras.

The officials will exchange opinions about the cooperation between EU and Moldova, as well as the recent political evolutions in the country. The MPs will also tackle the implementation of reforms in justice, economy, combating corruption, public administration, observing human rights and achievements in the electoral reform and media reform in Moldova.

Other issues on the agenda will be related to the cooperation between authorities and civil society in implementing the reform agenda, implications of the presidential elections in Moldova, as well as the bank fraud investigation.

After the meeting, a final declaration will be adopted comprising a string of recommendations to the authorities of Moldova and European Commission.

The Moldovan parliamentary delegation is made up of MPs Mihai Ghimpu, Oxana Domenti, Igor Vremea, Corneliu Padnevici, Ion Balan and Alina Zotea.

The committee convenes twice a year in Brussels and Chisinau. The last meeting took place in Chisinau on 18 May 2016.
