Marian Lupu launches officially election campaign

The chairman of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu has officially kicked off the election campaign. In the event, the politician said that Moldova has a future only if it ensures the implementation of reforms and becomes integrated into the EU, IPN reports.

Marian Lupu said he launches the campaign at the State University of Moldova, where he started to form as an economist, because he thus wants to give a signal to the young people that the country must be developed for them. “We can become more powerful. We can build a stronger economy benefitting from the European integration process,” he stated.

The politician noted that no other action will have more beneficial effects for the country than the European integration. “The integration into the EU helps us to do system reforms. If I become President, I will take concrete actions to solve the problem in the justice sector. I will wage war on corruption,” stated the Democratic leader.

As a President, Marian Lupu promises to create a commission of EU personalities who will help Moldova get rid of corruption. He will also request the European commissioners to act through the office of the President of Moldova and make sure that the European assistance is used efficiently.

The politician added that he is Moldovan and is proud of this, but understands the necessity of cooperation between all the ethnic communities of Moldova and will take this into account. Marian Lupu will also make effort to support the family as the basic unit of society and will be merciless toward domestic violence, against women and children.

Marian Lupu tops the list of candidates on the ballot.
