The President of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, congratulated Iliana Iotova on her victory in the second round of Bulgaria’s presidential election, wishing her wisdom and success in serving her people, and wishing friendly Bulgaria peace, stability, and prosperity, TRIBUNA reports.

“The election victory confirms that the Bulgarian people have made a firm choice in favor of defending national interests, preserving sovereignty, and upholding traditional values.

Moldova and Bulgaria are connected not only by geopolitical proximity. We are two nations united by the same Orthodox faith, centuries of shared history, and a deep spiritual kinship. This is a foundation that cannot be destroyed.

Of particular importance to us is the strong and hardworking Bulgarian community in Moldova. The Party of Socialists has always defended, and will continue to defend, the rights of Bulgarians in Moldova, the preservation of their cultural identity, and the development of Taraclia District.

I am convinced that, following Iliana Iotova’s victory, the partnership between our countries will become even stronger,” Igor Dodon stated.
