Prime Minister Vasile Tofan visited the e-Governance Agency (AGE), where he introduced the agency’s acting director, Artiom Cociu, who has replaced Nicoleta Colomeeț, TRIBUNA reports.
“I also invited colleagues from STISC, ASC, ASP, and the other institutions that jointly maintain the state’s digital infrastructure.
My message was simple: we have lost some of people’s trust, and now we must rebuild it. This is not the time to spend our energy looking for those to blame. Responsibilities will be clarified separately. Right now, the priority is to fix what needs fixing, close vulnerabilities, restore services safely, and better prepare for future attacks.
Over the past few days, the teams within these institutions have worked almost non-stop under difficult conditions, sometimes with resources and technologies far below the level of those used against us. I thank them for their efforts and for keeping the systems operational while working to restore services. From this point forward, all institutions must move in the same direction and act as a single team,” the Prime Minister said.
Vasile Tofan also stressed the need for structural reforms, including stronger governance, clearer responsibilities, a more robust security architecture, and access to cutting-edge technologies. He noted that cyberattacks are already making use of artificial intelligence, and that a powerful AI can only be countered by an even more capable AI.
“We have a lot to repair. But the most important thing we need to rebuild is people’s trust in the digital state,” the Prime Minister added.
